It's the wrong Hossa!
Did anyone else see Lehtonen THROW that puck at Avery? It's a good thing that Larsen was there to tell Kari to take it down a notch. He's a little excited, as he should be. He's a little too excited and hyped up, if you ask me. Kari is just a little freaked out, understandably so, but he needs to take it down a notch. I get text messages every time the Rangers score that says, "Shit" from my dad. But he did get my a scarf.
I'm frightened for this game.
The Shakes.
The Nasty Nesters
The Nest would like to see the noise spill down into the club level and the high-dollar seats. "You don't get as much of it down below, in what we call the tea-and-crumpet seats," said Hicks, a commercial photographer from Stone Mountain. "There are people down there, sometimes I think they think they're sitting in their Baracalounger at the house."It's really true. SPOILED ALERT!!! My dad works for CNN and we get club seats, yada yada yada, and I've never sat farther than a 200 section, but only once or twice. I acutally liked it. There is such a thing as being TOO close to the ice, i.e. The Tampa Bay Game, I was sitting in section 120, and during shoot out, I thought we always made a goal. I was standing too (But I'm only 5'6")!!
I agree with the Nastynesters. Some people (Not me, if you see me at the game, I've got the short brown hair with bangs. If I'm not wearing my GIANT white signed Jersey, I'm wearing a Blueland shirt that reads "Unleash The Fury". Descriptive right?) just sit there like Hockey is golf or tennis or...something, that you're quite at! It's not, HOCKEY DOESN'T = TENNIS OR GOLF. Can you believe at a game my dad and I were screaming because of a bad call (I mean, COME ON REF!!) and some women sitting in front of us turned around and just gave us the look of death. My boyfriend, who is not a huge hockey fan (I know, I know. I'm working on him...) even said "What the hell? IT'S A HOCKEY GAME."
Let me tell you something, if there is one thing that I enjoy about going to a Thrashers Game, it's yelling out foul langauge with my Dad. Okay, so I'm 19, but my dad has never said anything about me dropping the F-bomb. I actually make him laugh...in a bad way. You don't know unless you've sat near me, but I have some REALLY bad calls. I just scream whatever comes to mind, and I don't have the fliter, so I end up screaming things like "Go back to Ref school and learn how to make good calls because you suck!" I'm ashamed of that one too. Don't worry, you can tell me I suck. Go on, I know it. Flame away.

Blue Hair and Blueland: Playoffs begin tonight!
The last thing Bobby Holik wanted to talk about was Kari Lehtonen's new do: a bright blue spiked mohawk, flanked by platinum blonde hair."Please, I ask you one favor, do not ask me about that," Holik pleaded. "You have to ignore the situation."
I love that. Bobby Holik is my favorite Thrasher. I love them all, but something about Holik. Ah, I don;t know, but if I had to buy a jersey (Leave me alone, I'm a college student. The jerseys are like 160 dollars. Don't give me that "You're not a true fan" crap, because I am, got it? Good.) it would be a Bobby Holik jersey.
But oh my gosh! Are you ready for tonight? I'm really jealous because my Dad gets to go to the games, and I have to watch it on my tiny little screen in my dorm while making sure that I obey quite hours. I woke up at the crack ass of dawn to go to my 8 am class, and when I got on the bus (wearing BLUE!!) My heart started to pound. I had remembered it was playoff day, and tried to listen on to songs like "We will Rock you" "Remember The Name" "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Another Bites the Dust". The playoffs are today! I can't wait until 6:30!!!

On that note (Woah, what's up with my font...?) Anyhow, I was on NHL.com last night watching when the page refreshed (I was doing homework too!) on the other games. I was really disappointed that Pittsburgh lost, because I'm pushing for them to win. But you know, it was the first game, and as my dad always says "Calm down! There's still a lot of hockey left to be played." Unfortunetly, for Pittsburgh, who chanced out there goalie after Ottawa was up by 5 or 6 in the last ten minutes of the 3rd, there wasn't enough time for them to get back on there game.
Something that's even sadder is what happened to Jonathan Cheechoo of SJS. Hartnell of Nashville had a "Knee-on-knee collision" with Cheechoo in the second period. I seriously doubt this was an "accident". It may have been just really bad for Cheechoo, who had to be taken off the ice by two teammates. He was only using his good leg, not putting any pressure on it. As for Hartnell, he got a 15 minute penalty. 5 for kneeing (major) and 10 for game misconduct. Tell me if that sounds like an accident? I don't know, but I hope that Cheechoo is doing better and gets back on his skates soon. It would be horrible if Hartnell ended Cheechoo's career because he got angry and intentionally kneed Cheechoo in the first game. I think Cheechoo will be back on his skates and I hope it's soon. Despite that, San Jose won. Good job San Jose!
Always,
