Well...day one ends...

Welcome to 2 A.M. in the Looters Den, population: 1, Looters Jr.

I am more than sure that our wonderful GM DWad is still up too...he'd have to be if he was still trying his damnedest to re-sign Kozlov. I have to give Slava credit though. For a 34-year-old winger, he sure is putting a lot of teams on pins and needles, and trying his damnedest to clean out the wallets of the team willing to pay for him. I've only read rumors on the boards that Nylander went to the Oilers (Great, just great), which basically means we need to pay that money to Kozlov back. And why not pay him about 4.5 million+? Especially if we can afford to, and I don't see why we can't...come on people! I want the numbers, and all of them in writing with a figure that puts us over the cap with the signing of Kozlov.

Look, let's be honest, Slava Kozlov is not an asset that the Thrashers can afford to lose. Apparently (huh.), we can't afford to have him either, which I seriously doubt. Kozlov's a great
player and he'll go to who he thinks deserves him. I think the Thrashers deserve him, but then again I've been talking about karma, which (after the Gomez/Drury signings with the Rangers...) I will not be talking about anymore. I can hardly comprehend what I'm writing anymore...I just know that something good will come. In DWad we trust...right? For now at least, I'll see how I feel about that when I wake up in morning...I mean in a few hours.

Woah now!!

I have a mere suggestion for Thrashers Fans that frequent the message boards: Let's stop throwing out harsh words at Eric Perrin. Short, little FORMER Tampa Bayer or not, he is now an Atlanta Thrasher, so just deal. Same age as our four inch taller Dupuis, and from the same city in Quebec...doesn't this remind anyone else of the St. Louis-Perrin thing with the Lighting? Yeah, and hopefully tiny little St. Louis rubbed off on Perrin, who, by the way isn't a terrible player. Hey, maybe he can try to replace the pesky Jon Sim? He's a little shorter than Sim, but I don't see why he couldn't fit. At least it's not a far move from Tampa Bay to Atlanta. Too Bad Thrashers Fans hate Tampa Bay. Like I said, he's not a little spark anymore. He's a Thrasher now, so let's not find someone else not to like. I mean, Andy Sutton hasn't been signed by anyone yet (That was uncalled for. I happen to like Sutton).

Wow. News now is reading that Both Gomez and Drury have signed with the Rangers. Makes you hate the Rangers even more, doesn't it? Personally, I want to strangle someone. That's great, so Nylander's free. Whoop-dee-doo. Yeah, that's the only real good news. Maybe we can get Nylander. I still can't believe I'm saying that. So what, Gomez and Drury. God, what happened to Karma?! Can someone please break Sean Avery's leg? That would be some nice Karma right there. Personally, I hope someone chases after "King Hernik" like some are saying on the boards. Maybe he can get a salary he deserves for being a good goalie. He shouldn't have to take anything from anyone, unless that's a lot of money. Damn Rangers.

I'll be back when we've signed someone else. I really need a cold water now.

This Could Get Ugly Fast

Now, I don't exactly share that sentiment...is no one happy that the Thrashers Resigned DuPuis? Besides, free agent signins have only been under way for about three hours. Take it down a notch, Thrashers Fans. Don't get me wrong, I am just as nervous as the next person, though there seems to be a "Belanger" factor that has popped up, which, of course, I'm curious about. As soon as the first round of the playoffs ended, I put up a little list of players I thought would/should be resigned in my personal opinion (like you should trust me), and I did put Belanger on there. However, I am not as worried about him as I am about Slava Kozlov. That name is on the lips of ever Thrashers fan and it will be until we get some news on what's going on in that realm. I think it was a nice distraction to come out about 15 minutes into signing and tell us that Dupuis was resigned. A good distraction for about the five minutes it took me to pull out of the driveway and head to the store at noon.

And even the signing for Todd White hasn't relaxed fans, not even me. Maybe Kozlov's holding out for something? Maybe is relative, of course he's holding out for something or some amount of money. Here's the thing: Even though Kozlov hasn't signed, the Thrashers should (and DWad probably is) be worried about signing other people we need, or some of our RFA and soon! Though, it appears that most of the list of the top UFA's are holding out. Only three and half hours, let's all relax and enjoy this sizzling Georgia summer.

I'll be back in a few hours with another update.

See You in Blueland,
Looters Jr
