Greetings from Flordia!

Well, the draft is jsut around the corner, and I've finally had some free time in my life (I've been traveling and gutting a house, cut me a little break? Blogging does take a while). I'm sad to say that I won't be able to go to the draft party at Jillians because of my family vacation, but who cares about me or my lack of posting since April-May? No one, that's who, but I'm back so let's get on it.

Was anyone else glad that Ottawa didn't win the cup? I was really holding out for Buffalo, but after their second round performance where they (barely, if you ask me) passed the Rangers, I wasn't too sure. I was glad they didn't get swept by Ottawa though, that would have been depressing. Kudos to the Ducks for a fabulous season.

Okay, so on the the Thrasher's draft. I would have to say that I would be in the percentage of fans that say that I don't think we should try to get any 1st or second round picks. That's just me. However, don't think I'm not annoyed about Keith Tkachuk, like most of us were/are. Unhappy is a better word, becuase it was nice having him around to get us to the playoffs, disappointing that he didn't work in the playoffs, and then annoying that he wouldn't be returning after giving up those draft picks. I mean really. Though, I am very pleased with the slew of prospects that were signed. I think it's great that (As some dubbed 06-07 Thrashers) we're not the "retirement home for the NHL". Ouch. The Avs still have Sakic, he's only three years younger than Mellanby, give us a break. Personally, it will be exciting to see what the team is looking like for next season, I'm hoping (as many are) younger, faster and stronger. The team will work with what they have anf I think that trying to make a move the first or second round would be a bad idea.
