Round 2: Buffalo v. NYR

Hm. I haven't been too active here lately, and sorry about that, I have about two weeks of class left and one project and two huge papers, needless to say, I've been busy. But let's reacp:

The signing of Bryan Little. Oh, I'm excited to see him play. Though, I have to admit, I am a little weirded out by it. It always blows my mind that there ARE professional hockey players that could have been in my graduating class. It makes my self-worth go down just a little. The stats that altantathrashers.com is throwing around about Mr. Little please me. I have faith that he can translate that to Blueland. Also, I'm pleased to see the beginnings of this "New, younger roster".

However, it does concern me about who's gonna be traded and who won't be resigned. I'm a Bobby Holik fan myself, and it hurts that people group Holik into the "retirement" group. Well. He is older, true, but I've read some harsh statements about him by fans. Things like he had a horrible season, etc. You fill in the blanks. Okay, so if you look at +/- sure, Holik was -3, but come on. Holik had a solid season and worked harder than most on the team during the playoffs. I just had to say that.

Mellanby retires. I'm sad, honestly. He was a great captian, but he was older. You could see it. I hope that Mellanby enjoys his retirement and I will always remember him as a fantastic captain and hockey player. If Mellanby coaches in retirement, I hope one day he can get the cup, and I'm really sad it never happened for him in his thousands of games.

Enough about that, who else is excited about the Sabres v. Rangers game? That would be me. I hope the Sabres kick the Rangers into reality. Sabres aren't my favorite team, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick the Sabres. Merely because I do not like the Rangers. It's a family thing, my dad really hates all sport teams from New York. I am my father's daughter. I'm hoping it will be a hard series for the Rangers. Karma is coming, even if the Thrashers couldn't deliever it.

Did anyone else read the article on Sydney Crosby on NHL.com? I know, which one. The one about his broken foot!! Dear lord! He's 19, and for the last 2 1/2 weeks of the regular season and the playoffs, he was skating and scoring on a broken foot. I have to give him props for that. My boyfriend made the comment that his teammates must loathe him. Not only is he a great hockey player, he's been called the next Gretzky, he's the top scorer, he was going to have his own channel, he's in all the commericals, he's Canada's new golden boy AND, not only was he top for points, but he managed to KEEP ON GETTING POINTS despite BREAKING A FOOT. He's also 19, and the first teenager to get the top points' trophy (sorry, can't remember what it's called). Seriously, I'm jealous just thinking about it. Way to show everyone up, Sid.

Anyway, I'll be here more after monday of next week. Then I'm off to London on the 12th!!

Believe in Blueland,
Looters Jr
