As I mentioned before, I think that "what goes around comes around" and it has come around to bite Sean Avery and the Rangers right in the, well, you know. It's a lesson for all of the children out there, including myself probably:
1.) Don't make threats.
2.) Okay, if you do make a threat, make sure it's not an empty one.
It wasn't just Sean Avery, it was Tom Renney who got a little too big for his briches. I really wouldn't expect that out of a coach, but have been several things I didn't expect to happen already happen in the playoffs. For instance, the Thrashers losing, and in four games no less. I guess I'm still a little bitter. Or a lot bitter. I'll get over it during the preseason and when I get to see that beautiful banner raised into the rafters. Yeah, that's what I'm looking forward to.
Honestly though, I was disappointed in the performance of the Rangers and the Canucks. They were both taken down hard last night. I expected more out of the Canucks, especially since in their first game of the first round, they went into 4 overtimes. I don't know what they were thinking, but I don't think they'll make it through. I seem to have been picking the teams that keep losing. Thrashers, Stars, Canucks. I'm cheering for San Jose too. Maybe, if I cheer for the Rangers...hm.
Well, since I can't rent a movie and I do not have to write a paper tonight I will be enjoy the Disney Channel movie "Go Figure". It helps with the withdrawl. Sorta.
