The Draft

What an exciting Draft right? Well, for those of you that attended the Draft Party, I'm sure it was. For me, it was rather boring and a slightly sour evening, but come on, there is some good news! Though we didn't move up in the draft (swish!), it seems that the Thrashers did aquire Chris Thorburn from the Penguins. Oh yeah, but only for the second of our two third round draft picks. Eh, take'em where you can. A 24-year-old forward seems like a good investment to make let's hope that this one doesn't turn out badly. I have faith in Waddell though, at least for now. AND, on top of that, it seems that (all in one day) Waddell has resigned Larsen (Meh, that's not too exciting) and McCarthy. Oooh, exciting. Pardon the sarcasm, it's really just aggervation. Sometime it's hard to be away from Atlanta for too long (And not be able to go to the draft party. I'm really jealous!! Someone tell me how it was!)

Anyway, we actually have draft picks tomorrow! Sadly, the hotel doesn't offer the NHL network (which also annoyed me along with the page 15 article on the draft in USA today. How is Golf/NASCAR/Soccer more exciting than hockey? Explain. IN DETAIL) And since I am sick of being out in the sun, I will (probably not) stay in and refresh the page to see who these youngens that are being drafted are. It really makes you feel like an underachiever when most of the guys in the first round were bornin 1988-1989, and here I am living at home (not for long, I pray), working on a Journalism degree (here's to hoping for that one) and being bornin 1988. Yeah, it does put things into prespective for you. Anyway, it's one minute to midnight. See you tomorrow Thrashers' Fans.
